Babe Frees

Facts

Name: Babe Frees

Gender: Female

Birth: 4 Jan 1906 • Minneapolis, Hennepin, Minnesota

Birth documentation

Parents:

No other information has been found for this child. Initially it was thought that she was a stillborn but according to the documentations I have found I have determined she was born alive and I am speculating that she was given up for adoption as an infant. We submitted Loren Edward Frees Jr.’s DNA to Ancestry.com to hopefully find some descendants for her.

Possibility

The DNA results have come back and I’m still going through trying to organize everyone and find her. I believe I have found her on the 1920 census! Emma Lindquist is Andrew’s cousin. She was born Emma Friis in Sweden. Emma and Carl had 5 children (all boys.) 1 of them was a stillborn and one only lived for a year. But they had 3 sons who all grew to adulthood. They had Karl Helge Emanuel Lingqvist (b: 01 Apr 1902 • Ekeby, Malmöhus, Sweden), Swante Siguard Lindquist (b: 25 Feb 1907 • Ekeby, Malmöhus, Sweden), and Alte Harry Lindquist (b: 22 Jan 1910 • Ekeby, Malmöhus, Sweden). Karl and Emma arrived in the United States in 1913. On the 1920 Census 2 additional children are listed with them. Annie (b: 1906 Minnesota) and George (b: 1905 Minnesota). I contacted descendants of Karl, Swante and Alte to see if any of them had any information on these two additional children. The ones who have contacted me back have said they have no idea who they would be. They know they aren’t children of Karl and Emma though.

I am leaning towards believing that Annie is Babe Frees. They were both born in 1906 in Minnesota. Now I’m just struggling to find her before 1920 and after. In 1910 she would have only been 4 but I’m not finding her listed with any other relatives and in 1930 she would have been 24 so she could either be living with another relative, living on her own or married. I’m not sure what last name she would have used or if it changed based on who was caring for her at the time.

But at least we’ve gotten 1 step forward. (Hopefully)
